baseball!

kate & sam went to their first baseball game this past weekend...sam was fascinated by the whole experience. this is the little league park next to the stadium:
before the game started we enjoyed a great tailgate party, played games (yup, we brought the card table and the deluxe scrabble board), played on the playground and watched the home team get pummeled...

and we ate...sam was serious about his hot dog...

kate just hung around...

...and many more games in our future...

school is out

they are looking forward to summer and fun adventures...





she promised she would not be afraid...

she kept her promise...

i wonder if she will love horses like i do...

we have a new earth worm today. "her" name is Alia.

Alia replaced our ants...they met an untimely death when grandma accidently threw them away thinking their container was just some dirt.

the good news is that our yard is a never ending source of pets.

since the passing of "Lilly Matthew" we have had several other pets.

we had a roly-poly bug by the name of "Lillybelle Matthew". she escaped yesterday at the playground. kate's buddy "B" felt so bad for her that he gave her a worm.

"wormy" was happy until he was taken to the k-4 picnic at school today. "worrmy" was literally loved to death and returned to the earth from which he came.

we now have 4 ants. "gloria", "matthew" and 2 more that i forgot their names. they now live in a chinese take-out container. this time i cut air holes in the top.

we'll see how they are doing in the morning.

why can't we just love the cat? why the need to love things with no legs (like worms) or things that have more than 4 legs?

kate's pet ant, Lilly Matthew, passed away this morning.

cause(s) of death:

1) tupperware suffocation

2) acute cheerio poisoning

3) boredom

4) loneliness

pets

our family has expanded. yup, a new member. kate found "her". she found her today in the house and has adopted "her".

we don't really know if she really is a "her". kate decided she was a "her"...sam thinks she is a "he".

kate named "her" "Lilly".

sam named "him" "Matthew".

kate renamed "her/him" "Lilly Matthew".

kate found 2 cheerios on the floor, ground them up and fed them to Lilly Matthew in her *tupperware* home.

Lilly Matthew is an ant.

...may she survive the night...
