new insight...

it's happened. sam has discovered "his manhood". he's just about ready to start potty training and he's taking notice of his equipment.

tonight he looked down and said, "how come my pee pee is so big?"

runner boy said, "do you think it's big sammy?"

"yes, it's really big." he replied. "sissy's pee pee is not big." (what?! when did he notice that? who told him about that?)

"sammy, that's your wiener" runner boy said.

"my wiener?" he asks...

oh my. i'm not sure about this guy talk. but, if i talk to kate, she's grilling me about babies in mommy tummies. aaack.

why can't we just talk about trains and hello*kitty?

Patriot Wings

We went to a small air show near our home today. The kids loved seeing the planes. Runner Boy & I enjoy seeing the war birds. This is just an appetizer compared the "Mother of All Airshows" in early August.

Sam was drawn to the B-17 like a magnet. He loved it.

flowers

down on the farm...

We recently had the opportunity to go to the Plains for a visit with the Grandparents. They have a little acreage and the kids just love it there. There's a sandbox made out of tractor tire, swing set, different toys, cousins and tractors...can it get any better?

Of course when you get Runner Boy & his Dad together, they like to tackle projects. And if given a tractor or two, they feel unstoppable.

Really...if you have a loader bucket, who needs a ladder?

It didn't take long before they decided to do a little grading...and since 2 tractor is better than one, you can get the job done in half the time. Which leave the guys more time for mischief.

It didn't take much time after our arrival for Sam to start begging to ride the tractor. He loves it! He steered around the pasture like he was a bull in a herd of cows.

Not to be left out, Kate tried very hard to patiently wait for her turn. (She failed that part.) She took over the steering wheel with great confidence and a big smile on her face.

The G-parents place is full of memories for the kids. They play, run, splash, swing and bond with their beloved cousins. I am so grateful for their little piece of the prairie and the joy it brings to our family...

Life...

...so the alarm goes off...but the enthusiasm is underwhelming...

too much wild partying the night before at the hotel...running down the hall...swimming...jumping on the bed...

...the rest of the day was filled with play, popsicles, cousins, the sandbox...

finally, fatigue sets in....and it's nappy time...

...oh, that our lives as adults would be so simple...
